Across oceans, on ships and sharks that knew,
We’ve travelled too far to be torn in two.
On the field we worked as they brought down the whip.
But we finally fought back, so the scale would tip.
The road ahead, was littered with souls.
Still we marched on, till freedom rose.
So we stayed, as they found a way to atone.
But, did we forget to find our way back home?
The ones we left behind,
Soon became the enemy in our mind.
